What the evidence actually says.

NAD+ is essential to normal cellular metabolism. Levels and NAD-related pathways have been studied extensively in aging biology.

Human trials of NAD+ precursors such as nicotinamide riboside and NMN show that NAD-related biomarkers can be increased, but improvements in real-world outcomes such as energy, metabolism, exercise performance or healthy aging have been inconsistent.

A 2026 systematic review found no eligible outcome trials of intravenous or intramuscular NAD+ itself for anti-aging or wellness indications. That means the biological rationale is stronger than the clinical-outcome evidence.
